more pictures from Egypt

Egypt, eternal Egypt

A dream come true. As an egyptologist at heart, one of my dreams has always been going and stand on the banks of the Nile, watching the sun going down the Theban hills, breathe in the history and legacy that thousands of years of civilization have left us. Nothing prepares you...the sweet scent of the desert mixes with the spices, the cries of the muezzin mix with the swaying of the palm trees...enchanting, as always, forever. Because Immortality was everything to Ancient Egyptians, and their land has learnt from them to breath eternal, to enchant eternal.....
Luxor was all that I dreamt of and more...Karnak is impressive, meandering through it, getting wilfully lost in it, a step back in time, thousands of years back: magical.
The meditative silence of the Kings Valley, the wondrous "discovery" of Horemheb's tomb, the solitary magnificence of Medinat Habu, the long gone splendours of Malqata....
all i wanted...to breathe Egypt in all its essence....
